Alumnae Home Run Derby

Many Princeton alumnae and current players turned out for our 1st Annual Home Run Derby during reunions in May.  The event was a huge success; giving the Princeton softball program a chance to reconnect.  Cindy Cohen, the team's head coach from 1983-2000, was in attendance as well.

Melissa Finley '05 (left) won the home run derby, while Erin Snyder '06 (right) was the first alum to put one over the fence during the event. 

Jamie Lettire '10 (left) was announced as the Patton-Poole Award winner, given annually to the player who in play, sportmsmanship, and influence has been most valuable to the team.  Ellen Scott '10 (right) was chosen as the winner of the Cindy Cohen Award, given annually to the senior who through sportsmanship, dedication, and consistent effort has been an inspiration to her teammates.

Nikki Chu '13 became the first recipient of the Kathy Kobler Garrett '91 Memorial Award, given to the member of the Princeton varisty softball team whose generosity, positive attitude, genuine consideratino for others, and quiet energy makes her essential to the success of the team.  Nikki missed the entire season due to injury but remained a full participant in the program.

The alumns enjoyed the chance to get back on the field and reminisce about the glory days.  We look forward to seeing even more alumnae at the event next year!
