Alyssa
Schmidt is a shortstop from Rocklin, CA.
The toughest part about being so far from home for her is not being surrounded
by her loving family and adorable pets.
Alyssa picked Princeton because it offers the perfect combination of
high academics and a chance to play softball competitively. Her most interesting class is her freshman
seminar, “The Examined Life”, where they discuss philosophy and religion. Alyssa lists the beautiful campus and all the
amazing people here as her favorite things about Princeton. She thinks the best part about Princeton
Softball is the atmosphere of total love and trust that is always present when
she is with her teammates and the friendship that is there on and off the
field.
Cara
Worden is a catcher from Santa Ana, CA.
She says there is no place in the world quite like Princeton. At Princeton she gets the best of both worlds
athletically and academically. Cara
considers herself very lucky and happy to be here, but she also really
misses seeing the people she cares about every day, her parents. Her favorite class this semester is “Topics in
20th Century Art” because it’s really interesting and focuses on
some of her favorite artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein and Koons. The diversity on campus is Cara’s favorite
thing about Princeton. Even though
everyone is all so different, they are all in it together. It’s hard for her to choose just one thing
that is the best part about Princeton Softball but she really loves the
team. Cara says it’s an honor to be
recognized in the same group as her teammates; they are amazing players, students
and people.
Meredith
Brown is a pitcher from San Diego, CA.
She chose Princeton because she loved the atmosphere the campus had and
after her first visit knew it was the right place for her. Being so far away from home, Mere misses
Mexican food, In N Out, and the warm weather!
She is taking a Linguistics course this semester and says it’s her most interesting
class because it makes her think about things she never had before. It combines Science, History, and English in
such a unique way. Mere’s favorite thing
about Princeton is the team, claiming it is like having a second family and she
is so grateful for all her teammates. Her
favorite part about Princeton Softball is all the gear she
gets issued. When she does laundry, she has to do dark, lights and oranges :)
