Welcome the Class of 2015!

Princeton Softball adds six members from the Class of 2015.  They are a well-rounded group of athletes that bring an abundance of talent and depth to the program.  Below are excerpts from half of our freshman class that explain why they each chose Princeton and their favorite things about Princeton and the team thus far. 

Rachel Rendina is an outfielder from Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  She chose Princeton because she wanted to go Ivy League and instantly fell in love with Princeton on her visit.  Her favorite thing about Princeton is how friendly and helpful everyone is; it feels like home to her.  However, she still misses her family dinners.  Rachel says her writing seminar, Witnessing Disaster, is her most interesting class this semester.  The best thing about Princeton Softball to her is how much the team is like a family.  They have been on Fall Break for 5 days now and she already misses everyone!

 

Sarah McGowan is a pitcher/infielder from Langhorne, PA.  While she isn’t far from home, Sarah misses being able to spend the day with her mom and also the amount of sleep she used to get.  Sarah chose Princeton because each time she visited it felt more like home and she wanted to be a part of our family.  The people are her favorite thing about Princeton.  She never imagined meeting so many amazing and wonderful people in such a small place.  Sarah finds Chemistry to be her most interesting class, mainly because she knows so little about it.  There are too many things that make Princeton Softball unbelievable to her.  She is grateful for everything that has allowed her to be part of such a wonderful team and university.

Libby Crowe is an infielder from Saint Johns, FL.  Princeton represents the perfect university to her; great education, opportunity to play D1 softball, great team chemistry, and a beautiful town. Even though her choice was a no brainer, Libby says she misses her mom’s cooking and watching football with her family and friends.  Her favorite thing about Princeton is the diversity.  No two people are alike; everyone has something interesting about them and an incredible story to tell.  Libby’s most interesting class is her writing seminar, Main Street USA, where they discuss how the media’s idealization of America’s Main Street society influences the way we think about the past. Libby says the team is the best part about Princeton Softball; it was like having instant best friends.
