The 2012-2013 school year is approaching and the
softball office is buzzing with excitement! The softball family has been
working hard over the summer to make sure they are prepared for what is
promising to be a special year!
What better way to kick off the year than with the
Princeton tradition of Outdoor Action? For those readers who are not familiar
with this spectacular event, Outdoor Action is the University’s oldest and
largest pre-orientation program for incoming freshmen. From September 5th
through September 10th, members of the freshmen class
will be scattered throughout the states of Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
New York, and the New England area, where they will be engaging in experiential
learning activities. They will be participating in exhilarating challenges from
kayaking, rock climbing, and backpacking to sustainable farming. Many of the
friendships forged during OA trips end up lasting throughout a student-athletes
four years at Princeton and beyond.
Among the Outdoor Action participants are this
year’s talented Princeton softball freshmen class: Danielle Allen, Kayla Bose,
Shanna Christian, Skye Jerpbak, Kate Miller, and Emily Viggers. Leading our
freshmen into the wilderness will be our very own Meredith Brown, Rachel
Rendina, Candy Button, and Maddie Cousens. Meredith and Rachel will take on the
role of OA supporters, while Candy and Maddie will be OA leaders. We wish the
group the best of luck on their endeavors and know they will make memories that
will last a lifetime! Check back soon to read the fun and exciting stories of the OA adventures!
GO TIGERS!!
