With senior year in full swing, our players are filled with excitement, anxiety, and hope as they embark on their final year as a Princeton student-athlete. They have been asked to reflect upon the impact they have made on the program and how they would like to be remembered. Along with leaving their mark on the field, they will also be marking their academic achievement with the completion of their senior thesis.
Michelle Tolfa, a pitcher from Newport Beach, CA is glad to be back in Princeton after spending last spring abroad in Dublin, Ireland. Her time away, while invaluable, made her fully appreciate Princeton and all it has to offer. Michelle can't wait to get back in the circle this March and is excited to help lead the team through a rewarding season. Upon finishing her career, she hopes to be remembered as someone with an unwavering positive attitude who always kept teammates accountable. For her thesis, she is doing a close reading of M.G. Lewis' The Monk, focusing in particular on the use of uncanny.
Megan Weidrick is an infielder from Bath, OH that hopes what she has learned from seasons past will enable her to better lead the team through a gratifying season. Noting Beth Dalmut as bolstering her confidence her freshman year, she too hopes to be a source of empowerment for the underclassmen. When the season finishes, Megan wants her teammates to remember her as a person they could rely on; whether it be as a hard-working student, a determined infielder, or a trustworthy friend. Tentatively, her thesis will extend the empirical work of Ulrike Malmendier, specifically in regards to CEO labor economics.
