As freshmen begin their first day of classes on Princeton’s historical campus, many are flooded with feelings of excitement. The first weeks are often left to discovery and experiencing new traditions. The following exerts touch on our freshmen’s experiences this fall and what they have found to be their favorite things about Princeton thus far.
Maddie Cousens is a catcher from Albany, CA. One of her favorite things about Princeton is the environment. She loves walking into Wu dining hall after a practice or lift and seeing the sea of orange and black from all the other athletes just getting out of practice, mixed in with her friends outside of sports. Maddie also loves all the opportunities Princeton presents; she was able to take advantage of the Outdoor Action program prior to starting her Princeton career.
Khristin Kyllo is a middle infielder from Vienna, VA. She loves how diverse Princeton is and how many countries are represented here. Khristin has met so many amazing people and one of her favorite things has been hearing all of the fascinating accents from the foreign students. She thinks Princeton has an extraordinary campus; often feeling like she is walking through Hogwarts! From the people to the classes, to the sports and the beauty, she believes Princeton is the perfect school for her.
Tory Roberts is a middle infielder and outfielder from Ramona, CA. She shares the same love for the beauty of campus and the diversity of the student body as her classmates. She also lists Nassau Street among one of her favorite things about Princeton. She likes the cute small town environment feel. Tory loves the freedom she has in selecting classes and all the options to choose from.

Austin Sanders is an outfielder from El Cajon, CA. The main thing she loves about Princeton is the tremendous amount of support everywhere. While it can be daunting to be away from your famiy, she has found that there are a ton of support groups in everything from your social life to academics. Austin also enjoys taking advantage of the arts and crafts group in Whitman college with her roommates once a month and keeping up on her spanish by eating at a language table in the dining hall.
