Senior Day

Infielder Megan Weidrick and pitcher Michelle Tolfa will be honored tomorrow as they play their final games at 1895 Field.  As their careers come to a close they have been able to reflect on their past four years at Princeton; all the memories, accomplishments, and what they will miss most.

 

Megan says she will miss having the Princeton softball family in her every day life.  She will miss all the team e-mails and text chains and can only imagine how difficult it will be not having the structured athletic outlet or teammates to escape the rigors of academics.  Megan will be attending The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business this September.  She's an Economics major and her thesis is titled CEO Overconfidence: Insiders' and Outsiders' Perceptions of Portfolio and Media Proxies.

Michelle is an English major whose thesis is titled Bleeding Through Boundaries: The Creative Exertion of Female Agency in M.G. Lewis's The Monk.  She is currently working on getting a job in the publishing industry post graduation.  Michelle says she will miss her teammates most and all the time spent sitting in the dining hall with them. 

As freshmen, Megan and Michelle were on the 2008 Ivy League Championship team.  They both recall beating Cornell and Harvard to win the Ivy League title as their favorite memory.  Michelle lists finishing her thesis as her greatest accomplisment at Princeton and shutting out Utah this season as a close second.  Coming from a small, sheltered township, Megan feels that being exposed to all the diversity at Princeton has helped her become a confident, independent person and notes this growth as her greatest accomplishment.
