The Tigers started off their season going 1-3 at the UMBC Retreiver Classic. They dropped their first game to UMBC 7-2. The Retreivers were able to jump out to an early 5-0 lead off of 5 hits and one Tiger error. The Tigers were able to put up 2 runs in the top of 5th. Tory Roberts led off with a single through the left side. Rachel Rendina then grounded out to the pitcher, advancing Roberts to second. Nicole Onitveros came up with an RBI double, followed by an RBI double from Cara Worden. UMBC responded with two runs in the bottom of the 5th, taking a 7-2 lead. Alex Peyton pitched 5 innings for the Tigers, striking out 5.

The Tigers fell just short, 4-3, in their next game against Niagra. Meredith Brown started in the circle for the Tigers and pitched 5 scoreless innings, before giving up 2 runs off of 2 hits in the 6th. Brown struck out 6 and gave up one walk and 5 hits. Liza Kuhn came on in relief in the 6th and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and ended the game with 3 strike outs. Princeton rallied in the bottom of the 7th while losing daylight. Nikki Chu started the rally with a hit that dropped in behind second base. Candy Button followed with a double. Ontiveros then hit an RBI single to the shortstop. Worden then grounded out to second base, advancing Button and Ontiveros to third and second. Kelsey VandeBergh came up with a clutch 2 RBI double, putting the Tigers within one run. Alyssa Schmidt then grounded out to end the rally and the game.

Princeton got their first win of the season, beating Iona 5-2 under the lights! After giving up a run in the top of the 1st inning, the Tigers punched back in the bottom when Ontiveros hit a lead off triple and Schmidt followed with a sacrifice fly to score her. Princeton added 2 more runs in the 3rd inning with Rendina getting hit by a pitch, followed by a Schmidt RBI double. VandeBergh then singled to left field, advancing Schmidt to third, who would score on a passed ball. The Tigers scored 2 more runs in the 4th inning when Maddie Cousens led off with a single to right field. Roberts hit a single to center field to advance Cousens to second. Cousens and Roberts each moved up a base on a passed ball, then both scored on an Ontiveros single to center field making the Tiger lead 5-1. Iona added a run in the 5th off of 2 hits and a Tiger error. Peyton pitched all 7 innings, striking out 6, scattering 6 hits, and giving up only one walk.

The Tigers dropped another close one to Canisius, 1-0 to end the tournament, despite a combined one-hit effort from Brown and Kuhn in the circle. A leadoff walk, followed by 2 stolen bases and an error, lead to Canisius' run in the 1st inning. The Tigers were unable to get their offense going, scattering just 4 hits.
